Why learn data science in the middle of CP?

What you'll actually learn

The curriculum follows our Masters in Data Science. Each block ends with an assessment, and the machine-learning block ends with capstones.

Foundations: Python, Jupyter and the DS workflow
Data science vs data analytics, the end-to-end workflow, the tools you'll use daily (Python, Jupyter), and the core ideas behind regression and classification.
Data acquisition and cleaning
Where data comes from, how to collect it, preprocessing, and handling missing values without wrecking your dataset.
Regression that makes sense
Simple, multiple and polynomial regression; assumptions; reading coefficients; R-squared, MSE and MAE. Then logistic regression (binary and multinomial), odds and log-odds.
Machine learning fundamentals
Supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning, the ML workflow, scaling and normalisation, cross-validation, train-test split, precision/recall/F1 and the bias-variance trade-off.
Algorithms you'll implement
Decision trees, random forest (bagging, boosting, feature importance), XGBoost, Naive Bayes, SVM/SVR with the kernel trick, K-means clustering and K-NN.
Deep learning
Intro to deep learning with TensorFlow, CNNs, RNNs and sequence models, and advanced work with TensorFlow and Keras.
NLP
Tokenisation, stop words, stemming and lemmatisation, Bag of Words, TF-IDF, Word2Vec/GloVe, and building a sentiment-analysis model.

Data science in CP: your questions

I'm from a commerce or arts background. Can I still do this?
Yes. The course starts with Python and the data-science workflow from scratch. What helps most is being comfortable with basic maths and practising every week.
How long is the course?
The Masters in Data Science is 6 months of live, advanced learning, with assessments after each block and capstones at the end.
Can I attend classes at the CP centre, or only online?
Both. We run online and offline batches. Ask a counsellor which batch timings fit around your college or job.
Which tools will I use?
Python and Jupyter throughout, with scikit-learn-style ML workflows, TensorFlow and Keras for deep learning, and NLP techniques like TF-IDF and Word2Vec.
Is there any placement guarantee?
We offer a 5-interview guarantee, or we teach you free for 1 year (*T&C apply). Getting hired still depends on your skills, effort and interviews.
What will my portfolio have?
10+ capstone projects, such as fraud analytics, finance and risk, marketing and retail, supply chain, spam detection and an age/gender detection model.
