What pushes your AI salary up

Four things move AI pay the most. First, build and ship: a deployed project with a demo, code and clear results is worth more than a list of certificates. Second, go deep in one area, such as LLM applications, MLOps, computer vision or a business domain like finance or healthcare. Third, strengthen your engineering basics, including Python, SQL, APIs, cloud and testing, because production skills are what employers pay for. Fourth, choose employers carefully: product companies, global capability centres and funded AI startups in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other metros usually pay more.
